Editing Interview

After recording the interviews around the campus and getting real incites from some of the students it was time to start editing in Audition. Due to the task lasting exactly 90 seconds it was a very tight editing timing and being specific on what we wanted to present in the final product. This became a bit of a challenge because it was difficult to cut the whole speeches that the interviewees recorded for us.

Outro and Intro Interview

Today we had a task to complete a 90 second voice package with an outro and intro good enough to be able to be presented on radio. We could pick whatever topic we liked for the interview and was sent out into Sussex university. We decided on talking about the Trump and Hilary debate due to the world wide coverage as its the biggest issue in the news right now. We talked to 3 girls on campus and got there opinions. Then we had to go straight to the recording studio to record the intro and outros which was really interesting with the prober soundproof both. Finally we came back to edit it but we didn't finish it so will be doing this next week.

Copy right

I received an email from sound cloud implying that I had 'copy right' a piece of sound from a certain artist. Although I had used all my sounds from the BBC sounds it still appeared. It was a good learning curve though as it showed me how easy it is to copy right as so many sounds and things sound the same and can be similar. I do like how sound cloud is aware of these issues and how they approach if something is wrong.

Lanes Sound Walk (clip)

The Lanes Soundwalk

For this week we did some practice with the sounds equipment and developed our skills with audition too. Our main task was to go to Brighton and create a soundscape of a certain part. Me and my pair Elliot headed to the lanes cause we thought that we could achieve a good atmosphere of sounds and get a vibe of the difference and livelihood of the area. We used Zoom microphone to film and walked silently through the lanes to pick up the surrounding noises. I love the busker that we picked and the noises of the cars and everything else. Then finally we had to interview some people on what they liked most about Brighton. The teenage girls I talked to were quite giggly but I believe it added to my piece to show the student life that completes Brighton.
